Weather & Time Sync: installation and configuration

Install Weather & Time Sync (Sync Custom) on your FiveM server: replace vSync, admin panel, permissions, dynamic weather and blackout.

Weather & Time Sync (Sync Custom) synchronizes the weather, time and blackout for all players. Your admins control them from a modern panel, and all actions are verified server-side. It replaces vSync and older weather scripts.

Requirements

  • Standalone, ESX or QBCore: no mandatory dependency
  • The Cfx.re account that received the asset must be the one linked to the server's license key

1. Get the product

After purchase, the product is automatically delivered to the Cfx.re account used during payment. Open the Cfx.re portal (Granted Assets), find the product and download the archive.

2. Install

  1. Remove your other weather and time scripts (vSync, qb-weathersync…): two synchronization scripts will conflict with each other.
  2. Drop the cfx_fmodding_sync_custom folder into resources.
  3. Add ensure cfx_fmodding_sync_custom to server.cfg.
  4. Restart the server: your admins open the panel with /weather or /time.

3. Grant panel access

The panel works right away with FiveM admins (basic ACE permission). You can also grant access through a dedicated ACE, a license list or ESX / QBCore groups, which are detected automatically. If a player is denied, the server console shows their license and the exact line to add.

4. Configure

Three files can be edited: config.lua, config_server.lua and locales.lua.

  • Panel: position (center, right or left), names of the /weather and /time commands.
  • Weather: transition duration, dynamic weather (interval of your choice) and seasonal weather, for example snow and Christmas in December.
  • Time: day/night cycle speed, frozen time.
  • Blackout: turns off all city lights, with an option to keep vehicle headlights on.
  • Discord logs via webhook and notifications (GTA by default, or ox_lib, okokNotify…).

Weather, time, blackout and dynamic weather are saved and restored after a restart.

5. Commands and exports

The fsync command works from the server console, txAdmin and in-game: weather, time, freeze, blackout, dynamic, status. Developers have server exports (SetWeather, SetTime, FreezeTime, SetBlackout, SetDynamicWeather…) and client exports (GetWeather, GetTime, IsBlackout, IsTimeFrozen).

6. Troubleshooting

  • The weather changes on its own or reverts: another weather script is still running (vSync, qb-weathersync…), remove it.
  • Panel access denied: check the console, it shows the player's license and the line to add.
